Next week we will be doing a competition hair tutorial. This is great for parents who have never done competition hair before and don’t know where to start. This is going to be a basic bun and the different types you can do. However, you are going to need some accessories to be able to follow along or do it yourself. So here is a list below:
Hair Brush and Comb
This pack has everything you need to be able to do a hair bun or other styles of competition hair.
You will need two types of hair ties depending on what style you choose.
Clear hair ties are best for any color hair, however if you want to add more style you can do colored if your coach or gym allows it.
Getting a variety of sizes is you best option, because you can find which one fits best to your child head and hair type. This pack also has some hair ties, and a few small bobbie pins.
Its really important you get the right bobbie pins for a bun. The regular bobbie pins you see in the store won’t hold as well as you want and will start to slide out. The following bobbie pins are perfect for a bun.
These ones work great for any bun and it has many different sizes. There are other pins that are bigger and wider and are great if you are not using a bun maker or you need to do a quick bun for practice. They are listed below:
For any competition hair it, you need to be able to hold back any flyaways and keep the hair together nice and tight. So any gel you use needs to have a tight hold.
They hair spray you pick need to have a strong hold to hold back anything the gel did not get. I like the one listed below, however I only found a three pack to be able to show you.
After the hair spray you can also do glitter spray if you coach and gym allow you to do so. The kids love it and it makes them feel special. There are many different colors other then the one listed below:
Now that you have everything you need, please follow us next week for the Competition bun tutorial. Can’t wait to see all you of you guys!
